Sustainable Living Champions

Sustainable Living Champions

As part of our project we would like to ensure its continuation within the target communities. In order to achieve this we believe the best way is through the participation of active members of the community who have shown keen interest in sustainability.

A sustainable living champion's role is very varied depending on the individual's interests. Essentially they are a role model within the community and will act as motivators and promoters of sustainable living and community cohesion. This can be done in a variety of ways.

We have already started to identify the first sustainable living champions with the collaboration of Anglian Water. These champions will be testing water saving devices in their households which will be installed by Anglian Water. The amount of water they use will be then monitored to measure the savings achieved. This is very important in the Hamptons as all households are metered and currently the showers tend to use from 18 to 20 litres of water per minute, double the amount of water than the average shower.

We will be holding another meeting with Anglian Water early next year to identify more sustainable living champions. We are also looking into expanding the activities and involvement of champions in all sustainable aspects such as Waste, Energy, Transport, Wildlife and Healthy living.

If you are interested in becoming a sustainable living champion or require further information, please contact us.
