Glass recycling on your doorstep

The Project completes its last survey

Over the past three years the Seeding Sustainable Communities project has been spreading its environmental message to new housing developments in Peterborough. The project completed it 950th survey at the home of Mr Makwana in Hampton Centre.

The project aimed to create sustainable communities in Hampton and the Sugar Way Estate through residents completing a green living survey and by giving residents a free sustainable living welcome bag. The evaluation surveys which are conducted six months after the initial visit have shown 100 per cent of residents have made lifestyle changes: 75 per cent use their car less frequently for short journeys and 51 per cent have made their gardens more wildlife friendly.

Thank you to those who supported Hampton Farmers' Market which took place on Thursday 20th September, it was a huge successful.

20 producers took part in the market to bring residents a range of produce including meat, fish, vegetables, cheese, fudge, herbal cosmetics and freshly cut flowers. The market aimed to give Hampton residents the advantage of buying local product, thus reducing food miles. The market was a one off but residents can still take advantage of the fortnightly market in the city centre.
